On 28th April 2025, there was renewed the free Springer open publishing programme within the domestic licence, with a pool of 1,378 articles for the years 2025-2027.

The Springer open publishing programme allows the corresponding authors affiliated with the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin to publish their articles free of charges in prestigious journals under the Open Access model.

The affiliation of authors in the Springer  programme is verified exclusively by local administrators at the institutions – at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin : Ms Katarzyna Bojko, e-mail: repozytorium@kul.pl.

The affiliation of the corresponding author should be provided in the article header with adequate accuracy to unambiguous identification with the institution. The corresponding author may provide more than one affiliation in the article, and it is sufficient that at least one of them is consistent with the list. The affiliation of any co-authors of the article is not relevant to the programme.

The Article Processing Charges (APCs) under this programme are covered by the domestic Springer licence, funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW).

  • The publisher does not provide for the possibility of retroactive activation of articles, only articles accepted for publication after the programme's renewal could be covered by the programme
  • The programme includes i.a. 1,959 hybrid journals from the basic Springer collection
  • After the article acceptance, the corresponding author will receive an e-mail with a link to finalise the Open Access publication process… more information can be found on the ICM website and on the publisher’s website Open access agreement for Poland.
