Biblioteka Uniwersytecka

   Dyrekcja Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej KUL serdecznie dziękuje Panu Jerzemu Kulczyckiemu za przekazanie do zbiorów obszernego daru z księgozbioru Mieczysława Paszkiewicza z Anglii. Wspomniany księgozbiór, który zawiera łącznie 1440 woluminów książek i zeszytów, został dostarczony staraniem byłego Dyrektora Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej Pana Andrzeja Paluchowskiego.

   Darowizna obejmuje głównie publikacje z zakresu historii sztuki, historii powszechnej, literatury i językoznawstwa. Blisko połowę przekazanych tytułów stanowią książki wydane w Polsce. W swej zdecydowanej większości przekazane publikacje występują już w zbiorach naszej Biblioteki, dlatego też zostały zaoferowane zainteresowanym bibliotekom specjalistycznym KUL.

   Wśród publikacji obcojęzycznych na szczególną uwagę zasługują książki dotyczące uzbrojenia oraz różnego rodzaju broni począwszy od średniowiecza aż do czasów współczesnych. Szczególnie cenny jest obszerny zasób czasopisma „Journal of the Arms and Armour Society" (obejmujący lata: 1953-2000), który dotychczas nie występował w zbiorach Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej.

   Znaczącą część przekazanego księgozbioru stanowią również katalogi angielskich domów aukcyjnych oraz przewodniki turystyczne, głównie dotyczące obszaru Morza Śródziemnego.
